Our Mission
We gather, develop, and mobilize clergy and community leaders
for the flourishing of Greater Pasadena.
Faith And Community Leaders Working Together
We bring together pastors, ministry leaders, and civic partners who have spent twenty years showing up for this community, one relationship at a time.
That work takes three forms. We gather leaders who would otherwise never sit at the same table. We develop them through pastoral care, training, and peer support. And we mobilize them, together, when Greater Pasadena needs its faith and civic communities most.
A Force For Shalom
We exist to cultivate the kind of trust that comes from showing up together—so the local faith community can join with neighbors, organizations, and civic leaders as a collective force for shalom in our community.
That trust takes shape slowly: through more than 20 years of monthly breakfasts, late-night phone calls, and long conversations that continue long past the media cycle. It allowed us to move quickly when the Eaton Fire tore through Altadena in 2025. And it allows a pastor and a police chief to sit across from one another for a hard conversation.
This is what we mean by shalom. It is more than peace. It is wholeness and justice, held together through right relationship among people, place, and God.
What Guides Us
These convictions shape how we work, who we welcome, and what we prioritize.
We show up with presence.
Showing up consistently, in person, over time, is what builds trust. Presence is active. It's the foundation everything else is built on.
We pursue shalom, not just solutions.
Justice and well-being are a vision we pursue together, one that holds wholeness, equity, and right relationship all at once.
We honor the dignity of every person.
Every person carries the image of God and has inherent worth. That conviction shapes who we serve, who we welcome, and who sits beside us at the table.
We build relationships before we build programs.
Sustainable impact comes from trust earned over time, and that's the work we invest in first.
We lead with equitable mutuality.
We bring what we have. So does everyone else at the table. None of us can bring shalom to this community on our own.
Our Christian Commitments
The Clergy Community Coalition is rooted in the example of Jesus. These commitments guide how we lead, gather, and serve.
The image of God.
Jesus honored, dignified, and restored the image of God in every person he encountered. That commitment guides how we love, serve, and care for our neighbors.
The greatest commandment.
Jesus called us to love God and love neighbor. That commandment guides our relationships, our collaboration, and our leadership.
The beloved community.
Jesus modeled a diverse,
Spirit-led community built on equity, justice, and nonviolence. That vision guides our work for the transformation of our neighborhoods.
The spiritual practices of God's kingdom.
Jesus formed his disciples through habits of presence, prayer, protest, patience, and witness. Those same practices shape how we lead today.
Join the Coalition.
Every month, clergy and community leaders across Greater Pasadena gather to connect, learn, and move this work forward together.
