Where Faith Leaders Move Together
The Clergy Community Coalition brings more than 250 clergy and community leaders across Greater Pasadena together to care for one another and our community.
What We Build Together
The Clergy Community Coalition organizes its initiatives around three commitments: Gather and Connect, Care and Strengthen, and Equip and Mobilize.
Each one grows from relationships built long before a crisis arrives. For 20 years, the CCC has convened faith and community leaders in Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre so the local leaders can move together for the flourishing of the entire community.
Today, the coalition includes more than 100 faith communities and more than 80 partner organizations. The initiatives below are how that network shows up, week after week.
Gather and Connect
Bringing faith and community leaders together.
Each month, 70 to 90 clergy members, civic leaders, school officials, law enforcement leaders, nonprofit partners, and neighbors gather for breakfast and conversation at the Monthly CCC Meeting. A pastor meets the police chief. A school superintendent hears from a nearby congregation. The room erupts in applause when a clergy member shares that he has received the keys to his home after the fire. These relationships take shape before a crisis arrives, giving leaders a foundation for acting together when it does.
Monthly CCC Meeting
The anchor of the coalition.
A shared breakfast and open dialogue for faith, civic, and community leaders across
Greater Pasadena.
Faith Leaders Unite
Gatherings that bring faith leaders across traditions together to build relationships and explore how they can show up.
Prayer Gatherings
Times for faith leaders to pray together for their congregations and the community they share.
Community Forums and Seasonal Events
Cross-sector gatherings that widen the network and bring new leaders to the table.
CARE AND STRENGTHEN
Supporting pastors and faith leaders.
Pastors are often the last people to ask for help. The CCC makes sure they don't carry the weight alone. Through retreats, peer support groups, wellness offerings, and counseling grants, the coalition cares for the leaders who care for Greater Pasadena.
Clergy and
Leader Retreats
Time away to rest and reflect alongside other leaders who understand the work.
Clergy Peer
Support Groups
Small groups where faith leaders can speak honestly and support one another over time.
Wellness and Counseling
Resilience training and grants that give clergy access to one-on-one counseling.
Benevolence Fund
Financial support for neighbors in need, offered with and through the faith and community leaders who already know them.
What is the Rise Network?
The Rise Network is the CCC's long-term recovery effort following the Eaton Fire, which burned through Altadena in January 2025. It coordinates recovery across Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre through local faith communities. Rebuilding will take years, and the Rise Network is committed to the long road.
- Cash Aid: Cash assistance for fire survivors, delivered through faith communities.
- Care: Retreats, wellness offerings, peer support groups, and counseling grants for clergy and community members carrying the weight of recovery.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Coordination with relief and recovery partners, including church-hub infrastructure that brings resources into neighborhoods.
- Communications: A hub for timely, accurate information and resources for fire survivors and the congregations serving them.
Equip and Mobilize
Finding a collective voice for justice.
The CCC advocates through four committees focused on housing justice, migrant solidarity, education equity, and public safety. Each committee helps clergy understand the systems shaping their neighborhoods and find a collective voice within them. We don't tell faith leaders what to think. We create the space for them to work it out together, grounded in faith and in relationship with their neighbors.
Housing Justice Committee
Works alongside neighbors experiencing housing instability and displacement across Greater Pasadena.
Migrant Solidarity Committee
Stands with migrant
neighbors facing immigration enforcement, including
know-your-rights education for congregations.
Education Equity Committee
Connects faith communities with school leaders and families to push for well-resourced public schools.
Public Safety and Just Policing Committee
Keeps honest dialogue open between faith leaders, community members, and law enforcement leadership.
What training does the CCC offer faith leaders?
The CCC trains clergy and community leaders to meet complex community challenges with competence and compassion. Past offerings include a racial righteousness series, know-your-rights education, and trauma-informed care workshops.
- Cohorts and Peer Learning: Groups of leaders who learn together over time.
- Pilgrimages and Place-Based Learning: Learning that happens on the ground, in the places where history and justice meet.
- Training Events and Workshops: Resilience workshops, crisis and disaster preparedness, and capacity-building for congregations and partner organizations.
